Sustainability Forum

About Us

The administration of the Sustainability Forum passed to the Construction Products Association in April 2007. This website acts as an archive for the achievements of the Sustainability Forum prior to April 2007. If you would like any information on the current status of the Sustainability Forum please contact that Construction Products Association. The Sustainability Forum is taking forward the programme of work begun by the Sustainable Construction Task Group. Under the chairmanship of Ian Coull, Chief Executive of Slough Estates, the Sustainability Forum looks forward to building on the valuable work carried out since its inception.

The Forum, which includes representatives from across the construction industry, has recently attracted a number of new members. The team is currently finalising a twelve month programme of work which will increase awareness of the benefits of sustainable construction and help the industry to adapt to new demands. Work has already begun under working groups focusing on:

A desk review of international best practice is being carried out by David Hughes (DTI).

The Forum will advise the DTI, The Strategic Forum and Constructing Excellence on sustainability issues.
