Summary: Speakers from the waste management sector gave their perspective and outline the innovations taking place to enable them to operate more effectively. This was followed by a workshop session facilitated by WRAP to give members the opportunity to feed into the development of a new WRAP toolkit "The Net Waste Tool" which builds on the existing recycled content toolkit and site waste management plan guidance.

Summary:177 projects in the London region have become involved in the Construction Resource Efficiency (CoRE) project which has enabled them to measure and better manage their site waste. This
allowed them to identify areas where specific support was needed and improve resource efficiency. Organisations that have taken part in the programme outlined their experiences and the savings in waste that they have achieved through participation in the scheme.

Summary:This event aimed to examine the potential waste reductions and cost savings that can be achieved when waste management is addressed using an integrated approach at an early stage. Speakers outlined how waste can be addressed and the environmentaland economic benefits that this can bring. The event also examined the barriers to designing out waste and why this approach has not been more widely adopted. This event formed part of the Construction Resource Efficiency Programme(CoRE) which aims to reduce waste and increase resource efficiency.

Summary:This event aimed to enable construction companies to better understand and overcome the issues that exist with construction in London in terms of managing, segregating and removing waste from site. The event offered practical evidence of how sites can better manage waste and reduce vehicle movements which in turn can help reduce the environmental impact of projects.
