Summary

The Constructing Excellence Sustainability Team has been working with the Heritage Lottery Fund since May 2006 and work is ongoing. This summary deals with the recent delivered output which forms part of the ongoing work.

The project to date has looked at the issues of resource use in Heritage Lottery Fund refurbishment and construction works. Constructing Excellence assisted the Heritage Lottery Fund to develop guidance document "Planning Greener Heritage Projects" and undertook a resource use trial with a number of current HLF projects to examine the construction or refurbishment work in terms of their use of resources and consideration of long term costs and value.
