A six month live exercise was carried out by CADsmart across 9 firms of engineering & architectural practices in the UK. During this time the basic CAD skills of 85 recruits were assessed at interview.

Scores ranged from 5% to 95% and times ranged from 26 minutes to over 4 hours.
Once a company knows what people can and can't do with CAD it can provide a more valuable induction process for new recruits, and firms know with confidence where to place new starters within their organisation.
CAD benchmarks at architectural and engineering firms exceed the national average
Benoy is an international firm of architects, masterplanners, interior and graphic designers working from offices in the UK, Middle and Far East. Their CAD benchmarks exceed the UK's national average for basic CAD performance.
Benoy's CAD team mainly uses Autodesk software for the production of information and detailing work. The practice has been using CADsmart since 2004 to help maintain a high level of CAD productivity between the group's offices in London, Newark and Hong Kong.

The practice has been using CADsmart since 2005 to help feed information into its CAD training programmes and to aid in the recruitment and induction process. The company has assessed basic CAD skills across the whole group and the Hyder Consulting company CAD benchmark exceeds the UK national average for basic CAD performance.
