Chief Executive
Biography:
Shelagh has been Chief Executive of The Housing Forum since June 2006. She has a national reputation in housing and regeneration, with over 20 years wide and varied experience in the sector. Her vision for The Housing Forum is to substantially raise its profile and influence, advancing whole-industry solutions to the issues of housing supply. Her aim is to share improving practice throughout the housing industry and promote new models for volume housebuilding and increase value for members through cutting edge projects and new measurement tools.
Shelagh has substantial experience of the operation of different housing markets having worked in the North East, in Newcastle upon Tyne and holding senior housing positions at Gateshead Council and at Peterborough as Director of Community Services, leading the stock transfer to Cross Keys Homes, establishing the award winning New Link Project for asylum seekers and preparing housing, economic and cultural features of Peterborough's Growth Master Plan.
A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing, Shelagh currently serves on the CiH National Council.
