Working Groups

The Construction Client Group currently have two active working groups running. These are:

• The Health and Safety Task Group
• Asset and favilities Management

The Health and Safety Task Group

The main objective of this group is to:

• Represent clients and work with key bodies and stakeholders to improve the health and safety performance in the construction industry
• Identify and share the business case for clients for investing in the management of Health and Safety in their projects
• Helping clients achieve good health and safety performance on projects
• Support clients of all sizes and levels of understanding in the discharge of their general duties and specifically under the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2007 (CDM 2007)
• Influence legislation relating to Health and Safety as it affects clients who procure construction work
• Provide value through its activities to member companies and to potential members; seek funding when appropriate.

Asset and Facilities Management

Increase the awareness of clients and industry of the value cradle to grave asset management by:

• The implications of procurement decisions on the ability to deliver needs
• The impact of FM on their business
• The opportunity of earlier involvement of FM
• The significance of capital expenditure and operational expenditure convergence
• Showcasing good practice – case studies
• Capturing information
