Project Objectives

The Group will combine the work of the previous DBF and RCF groups covering industry insurance and risk management.

Project Description

A report produced by DBF and the Thomas Miller Risk management research in 2002 concluded that in order to improve the construction industry’s relationship with the insurance industry we need to share our knowledge more widely and work towards agreed standards for reporting risk information.

The working group will strive to change attitudes to encourage all parties to consider risk prevention before insurance protection. The Group hopes to forge close working relationships with the Insurance industry to develop a better understanding and management of risk which equates with best practices in other industries.

In November 2005 the Working Group completed the preparation of a Collaborative Risk Management Guide. This is a simple guide which seeks to involve all members of the supply chain in the important process of Risk management.
