Building and Estates Members Forum meeting held on 28 April 2006 at the Cumberland Hotel, Great Cumberland Place, London W1A 4RF .
This was an informative and entertaining day for members and guests. Vaughan Burnand, Chairman of the Building & Estates Forum, introduced the day and Don Ward, Chief Operating Officer of Constructing Excellence followed with an Overview of the new organisation formed by the merger of Constructing Excellence and Be after which Don answered members questions.
There was then a breakout groups session to discuss the question "What would you consider to be six good values for an organisation within the construction industry?" before presentation from Vaughan Burnand on "Values - The Principles" and Don Ward on "Constructing Excellence Values".
Andy Dainty of Loughborough University did a presentation of his research case study "Inducing cultural change through values and behaviours." This was followed after lunch by a presentation from Andy on "How can values and behaviours be used? Examples of integrated HRM strategies for embedding values and behaviours".
Phillip Collard of Marketing Works talked to the forum about "Behaviours in the work winning process - How can and should Values be used within member organisations?"
This was followed by a feedback session and plenary before the Chairman closed the meeting.
