Be Conference 2003

Creating value by design

'More of the same won't do!'

This was the message heard loud and clear by over 100 delegates from across the built environment industry who came to the Lewis Media Centre on Wednesday 10th December for the Be Annual Conference, held this year in partnership with Imperial College London.

A programme of influential speakers from academia and industry challenged the delegates to think afresh about the way they delivered value to their customers – what they understood by the term, how they measured it and how they could improve their offering.

The morning sessions looked at the theory of adding value and the concept of integrated solutions whilst the speakers after lunch took practical examples from the healthcare sector to illustrate the benefits of designing health environments with the patient in mind.

The day was completed by an interactive voting session in which delegates were able to compare their views on value in the light of what they’d heard during the day.
