4Projects was born out of its parent company, Leighton Management, early in 2000. Emerging from work that Leighton had undertaken with several external organisations, the company was set up to provide innovative web-based solutions for collaborative working within the construction industry. Since its inception, 4Projects business emphasis has aimed at radically improving working practices, reducing costs and saving time. The 4Projects extranet solution supports collaborative working using a centrally located and maintained information management system.
Successes were achieved using 4Projects early technology on projects at London Gatwick and Stansted airports with BAA. Other early projects include Paddington Station redevelopment with Railtrack and projects for Slough Estates and Tesco. The use of 4Projects extranet technology is highlighted in Movement for Innovation case studies relating to projects dating back to 1997.
