Demonstration Projects

Demonstration Organisations

A demonstration organisation is a company that has adopted innovative ways of delivering projects, processes and products in line with the Constructing Excellence agenda.

There are currently five organisation demonstrations that have been written up as in depth case studies, covering total safety, skills shortages, attracting people to the industry, supply chain partnering, and strategic partnering:

Collectively these organisations cover people, process and delivery issues affecting the industry. Each case study focuses on the various aspects of change, setting out why the industry needs to change, the business case for change and how the individual companies made their own change. You can download a PDF of each case study by clicking on the links on the right.

In each publication there is a major emphasis on skills and to accompany the series of case studies you can assess your own capability in the skills required. If you click on the links below or to the right you can download a skills assessment tool that enables an individual to benchmark their skills levels against those required to make the sort of changes described in the case studies. This requires Microsoft Excel with 'macro's enabled' - for more information on how to use the tool click instructions.

The work to prepare these case studies was sponsored jointly by CITB-ConstructionSkills and Constructing Excellence with support from DTI. The skills assessment tool was developed by MRM Solutions Ltd who also wrote the case studies.
