Demonstration Projects

What is a Demonstration?

Demonstration Projects are live construction projects innovating or applying an element of best practice that it is hoped will lead to a step-change in performance for the organisations involved. Demonstration Projects tend to come from the innovators or first chunk of early adopters in the 'Innovation Adoption Life Cycle' (see below).

Constructing Excellence has a number of clients for Demonstration Projects; these clients are both our internal member forums and a number of external funding organisations. In order to ensure that Demonstrations address the specific needs of industry sector groups, each client for Demonstration Projects are asked to choose a number of theme areas in which they believe best practice information is required. The current themes can be found in the following document.

Demonstrations are committed to:

  • Illustrating improvements based on clear benchmarks
  • Sharing knowledge by discussions with members of the demonstration team, through presentations at Constructing Excellence events and online at the Constructing Excellence website.
  • Measurement through the appropriate industry headline Key Performance Indicators
