North West
The Centre for Construction Innovation (CCI) is the centre of Constructing Excellence in the North West. CCI promotes the strategic objectives of Constructing Excellence throughout the region through its four programmes: -
- Innovation - identifying and promoting tomorrow's best practice
- Productivity - improving the competitiveness of the construction industry in the North West
- Best Practice Knowledge - creating continuous improvement through the exchange of best practice
- Engagement - working with people, businesses and organisations to change the culture of the industry in the region.
CCI is a not for profit enterprise centre of the 6-star rated School of Construction and Property Management at the University of Salford. The centre is the home to the North West Construction Forum (a Constructing Excellence Club) and the regional Constructing Excellence Cluster Group.

CCI Services
CCI is an independent point of reference and advice for organisations wishing to facilitate the change promoted by Constructing Excellence. The centre brings together a broad range of industry participants and academics as multi-disciplinary participants in a range of best practice education and training, seminars, workshops and in-company events, facilitating change by learning, debate and experience.
- Education and Training
CCI is able to offer a range of education and training opportunities to companies in the region. CCI offer corporate training tailored to an organisations need based around its Masters Training Programme, which is run in partnership with the internationally renowned School of Construction and Property Management at the University of Salford. Training in any aspect of Constructing Excellence can be tailored to suit an organisations specific requirements and this can take place in the workplace, at the CCI's office or online.
- Events and Seminars
CCI organise and host many different types of events, both in the CCI Suite and elsewhere throughout the North West - events such as seminars and workshops, debates and conferences, training and learning events. CCI also promotes, manages and helps to market other Constructing Excellence associated events, both in the North West and throughout the country.
The Centre organises monthly Twilight Seminars that have specialist speakers talking on topical issues. These seminars are free of charge and are brought to you in conjunction with the North West Construction Forum and Constructing Excellence.
- Independent Advice and Guidance
CCI is increasingly being used as an independent point of reference and advice for companies and organisations wishing to facilitate the changes promoted by the Government's National agendas. With its links to a range of experts from the University of Salford, Constructing Excellence (inc. Construction Best Practice and Rethinking Construction, Strategic Forum, etc), CCI can provide assistance in the following areas: -

- Industry Publications
CCI publishes reports on subjects of importance to the construction industry. The reports aim to provide organisations with knowledge, guidance and skills needed to compete in the current market place and members of the CCI team and their working partners author these reports.
