New Membership Scheme - join now and save £70 on our conference

On 3rd April we launch the new membership scheme for The IT Construction Forum. Over the next few months we will be developing the membership package but one of the first benefits for subscribing members is a £70 discount on our annual conference, to take place on 24th May. You can also save 20% on a workshop on mobile technologies. To be sure of your discounts, and for more details, apply for full membership now using the application form on our website at www.itconstructionforum.org.uk

Many of you registered with us for 'free membership' or 'non-subscribing membership'. It will no longer be possible to register for this membership level from 1st April. However, if you have registered or confirmed your details in the last few months in response to our various requests, and if your details match our qualification criteria, you will continue to receive some benefits, such as our free newsletter, insITe, until August 2006. You can also claim £50 discount on our annual conference, if you book before 24th April.

You can still register on our website, free of charge, for free downloads and e-bulletins.

New member profile

Here is a short profile of the first full member of The IT Construction Forum. We will, periodically, include a profile of a new member in future e-bulletins and newsletters.

Ribbon Graeme Tappenden, Director and Chief Information Officer, Cameron Taylor, Tolworth.

Graeme is a Chartered Engineer, Director and CIO of Cameron Taylor, a professional services consultancy providing a portfolio of structural, civil, mechanical, electrical engineering, public health, transportation planning, environmental, building surveying and health and safety services.

Graeme has for many years successfully directed a specialist surveying and insurance services organisation as part of Cameron Taylor using e-technologies and knowledge management as key tools. "Access to and the management of company knowledge," comments Graeme, "has never been more important for the UK's highly pressured construction sector. With the pressures on maintaining skilled staff and the ever more litigious climate, good knowledge governance and the release of local knowledge, often locked in, is key to ongoing business success."

Find out about technologies for managing knowledge at The IT Construction Forum conference on 24th May.

Empower your supply chain through effective use of IT

Ribbon By Anna McCrea, senior consultant at Davis Langdon Management Consulting.

Changes in buying habits and the growing need for information lead customers to expect businesses to empower them. Businesses can also benefit from allowing customers to own more of the buying process, but they must provide the customer with the enabling technology.

But how can businesses of all types and sizes integrate their diverse applications in an efficient manner?
