Cross Sector Customer Driven Strategy for Housing Construction

The Housing Forum Board has begun work on a strategy for all sectors of the housing construction industry, driven by customers and focusing on the delivery of quality homes and communities. The work is led by John Callcutt, Deputy Chairman of Crest Nicholson and will be based initially on taking 'evidence' from expert witnesses leading to the production of a framework document for discussion at the Housing Forum conference on 28th February 2006.

Update on the Housing Forum Working Groups

The work of the three working groups established by the Housing Forum Board will inform the Customer Driven Strategy.

The next edition of the Housing Forum Members newsletter, will be produced on the 30th September and will focus on 'Water' themes. Click here for the first prototype newsletter 'Who Innovates Wins'.- June 2005.

Design and Customer Satisfaction, Chaired by Barry Munday, Chairman of PRP Architects. The group has begun a literature survey to identify the gaps in research, and will look at examples of good practice, and inter-industry and international comparisons. The main issues will then be identified for further exploration.

Improving the Existing Housing Stock, Chaired by Dave Smith, Director of Wates. The group is undertaking research on the various procurement experiences of PFI projects, ALMOs, RSLs and LSVTs, and Local Authority retained stock, with a view to identifying successes based on best practice and any barriers to innovation as the industry expertise evolves.
