Constructing Excellence

Innovation · Best Practice · Productivity

Enews April 2004

To deliver individual, corporate and industry excellence in construction. Innovation - Aspiring Excellence
Best Practice Knowledge - Demonstrating Excellence
Productivity - Measuring Excellence

MONTHLY FOCUS

are clients making unreasonable demands for kpi information?
Key Performance Indicators are increasingly being specified by clients for their new projects. However, Constructing Excellence often receives comments that what is being asked for is difficult to provide and can be misleading.
Clients - can you let us know what KPI clauses you commonly use in your tenders and contracts?
Contractors - can you send us examples of the clauses you have to respond to when bidding for work?
Constructing Excellence will treat all returns in confidence, but will try to identify best practice and publish guidance for clients and contractors alike. Email your responses to: » helpdesk@constructingexcellence.org.uk
acbee (accelerating change in built environment education)
Industry-university collaboration has turned a very positive corner with the publication of ACBEE's first case studies. Produced with the collaboration of the CITB, the CIC, Constructing Excellence and the Learning and Teaching Support Network, they involve universities across the UK and industry partners from all sectors. They will be of immense value to the industry as a source of information on construction-related higher education courses.
