Build London Live: your chance to collaborate!

Collaboration is now far from being just a buzz-word in the UK construction industry - it has, and continues to become the way of doing business for many within the supply chain.

The 2012 Construction Commitments, the Construction Commitments and the Strategic Forum for Construction's targets all echo and encourage the need for collaboration, as this is paramount for the delivery of many supporting aspects of the construction process and forming a core part of the business improvement and best practice change agenda(s). The 2012 Construction Commitments pinpoint under the aspect of 'Design Quality' that IT-based collaborative tools and communication technologies will be exploited.

One such project where this is demonstrated is the 'Build London Live' competition which utilises the Asite collaborative platform. The design brief for Build London Live was published at 12.00pm on 24th June 2008 and this could well be the biggest online collaborative design exercise ever seen in the UK so far - and could spurn a few more of its kind from acros the industry's collaboration technology providers.
