Collaborative Working Champions and G4C sites

Constructing Excellence has been expanding its online presence enabling any industry practitioners to contribute to discussions about collaborative working and other construction industry issues.

The Collaborative Working Champions group has opened its online network - www.cechampions.co.uk or http://cwchamps.ning.com - to all industry contacts, and invites anyone interested in integrated collaborative working to become a member (it's free) and start participating. The highly-interactive Champions site will help you learn from real projects undertaken using collaborative approaches, and aims to help you play your part in creating a better, more sustainable built environment - from planning and design through construction to occupation and management of buildings, infrastructure, landscape, etc.

G4C, Generation for Collaboration, is also establishing an interactive online network - http://G4Cnet.ning.com - aimed at early career professionals, graduates, students and others contemplating careers in architecture, engineering, construction, property, facilities management and related disciplines. Free to join, G4Cnet is a place for you to learn about G4C, to discuss industry news and issues, to form special interest groups, to learn about forthcoming events, and to share news, ideas and insights. A key aim is to build networking opportunities, both online and through face-to-face events.

Both sites are created on the Ning platform. In some organisations, corporate firewall settings may prevent access to all Ning-based social networks. Normally, users can ask their IT department to grant exceptions for work-related Ning sites, getting the relevant URL added to firewall 'white-lists'. Alternatively, many users simply access Ning sites from their home computers.
