Project Leadership: Higgins Construction for the Silwood Estate redevelopment

Higgins Construction was chosen because of the way in which they had engaged with residents and local community groups and instilled a teamworking ethos throughout the project.

Integration and collaborative working: The Dartford Team, for the A2 A282 Dartford Improvement

The judges felt that The Dartford Team had used a truly integrated team approach that is paying dividends on a complex project.

Leadership and people development: East Potential (part of the East Thames Group)

The judges felt that East Potential deserved a huge amount of praise for the way in which it has enabled young and disadvantaged people to access construction training.

Heath and safety award: London Borough of Bromley

The judges were looking for evidence that best practice has been utilised in producing an outcome that substantially improves performance. The London Borough of Bromley has developed a training programme to benefit all local authorities adhere to the requirements of the new CDM legislation.

Innovation award: Skanska, for St Barts and the Royal London

Skanska was chosen due to innovative approaches to negating the issues of noise, dust and vibration on the project as well as displaying a strong commitment to environmental sustainability.

Legacy award: FM Conway, for the Conway Recycling Facilities

FM Conway used an innovative approach to recycling which is having a huge impact on the highways sector.

Client of the Year: Worthing Homes

Worthing Homes drove innovation and best practice, both in the way they managed their supply chain, and in the way they engaged with stakeholders.

Overall Project of the Year: Hampshire County Council, for their enhance programme

The judges felt that Hampshire County Council’s project was an excellent example of successful programme management that fully embraces the principles of Constructing Excellence.
