Engagement and Taking Action

This objective is critical to Constructing Excellence successfully delivering its strategy. Constructing Excellence must have the capacity and range of products and services to connect with and engage the widest possible range of construction industry individuals and organisations and encourage them to take action.

Whilst Engagement will be managed on a national scale, the key will be the regional strategy through developing and connecting with regionally based networks of organisations such as the Constructing Excellence Clubs. This will provide the principal means to engage with small and medium enterprises and the regional and local construction communities.

Innovation will contribute to this objective by:

• establishing a network to link the activities of universities and other providers
• facilitating the potential to inform research spending and collaboration
• establishing a community of approved Constructing Excellence 'Innovation Advisors'

Best Practice Knowledge will contribute to this objective by:

• working with organisations to develop engagement initiatives
• providing a central resource in support of the engagement teams and the regions
• enabling Constructing Excellence to successfully engage with industry
• driving awareness of the benefits of new culture and working practices of the leading edge companies

Productivity will contribute to this objective by:

• developing a range of products and services that will assist Constructing Excellence in engaging with organisations to satisfy its objectives
• continuing to produce the KPI data
• using statistical data to encourage organisations to join Constructing Excellence in the change process

Engagement will contribute to this objectrive by:

• providing a dedicated resource to support Centres, Clusters and Clubs
• developing strong links with the construction community, Centres, Clubs and network of Advisors
• working with local and regional networks
• supporting the delivery of regional and national initiatives through our network of Advisors
• working with Regional Development Agencies, chambers and local government organisations
